Case Study 9

Understanding opportunities for e-invoicing in Latin America

Need:

A San Francisco Bay Area-based online payment company sought to expand its services into the B2B market, specifically targeting e-invoicing services in Brazil and Mexico. To do this, they first needed to conduct research with key business stakeholders to evaluate the concepts for the new product offering and gauge the feasibility of the product in each market.

Solution:

Conducted interviews with business stakeholders from the payments value chain in Mexico and Brazil with a specific focus on key players in each industry: issuers, acquirers, buyers, suppliers, e-invoicing providers, and government regulators.

Results

Stakeholder feedback was crucial in refining the product concept. A key deliverable was the identification of specific success scenarios and the necessary iterations and features for the prototype. This analysis validated the market potential in both Mexico and Brazil, providing a clear direction for the product roadmap and the team’s strategic goals
